MERRY CHRISTMAS

I WANT TO TAKE A MOMENT AND WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS! I AM TRULY BLESSED TO BE YOUR PASTOR!

THE LORD HAS BEEN VERY GRACIOUS TO FBBC THIS PAST YEAR WITH MANY FOLKS GETTING SAVED AND SEVERAL NEW FOLKS AND FAMILIES JOINING THE CHURCH. NEXT SUNDAY WE WILL BE HAVING SEVERAL FOLKS GETTING BAPTIZED AND ANOTHER FAMILY WILL BE JOINING THE CHURCH. PRAISE THE LORD!

WORK ON THE FELLOWSHIP HALL CONTINUES. BATHROOM TILE HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND GROUTED IN BOTH THE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TOILET ROOMS AND A SHOWER WAS ALSO INSTALLED IN BOTH. THE ELECTRICAL WIRING FOR THE LIGHTING IS ALMOST COMPLETED. THE SPRINKLERS AND SMOKE DETECTORS AND FIRE ALARM INDICATORS WERE BEING DONE TODAY AND HOPEFULLY WILL BE COMPLETED BY WEEKS END.

DOORS AND HARDWARE HAVE BEEN HUNG AND THE STAINING PROCESS HAS BEGUN ON ALL THE DOORS AND WOOD ENCLOSED COLUMNS. THE BATHROOM FIXTURES SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY END OF NEXT WEEK. CERAMIC TILE WILL BE DONE THE FOLLOWING WEEK.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THE $9,000.00 NEEDED TO INSTALL THE HVAC SYSTEM AS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY WITHOUT IT. WE ARE HOPING THAT THE KITCHEN MAN AND THE PLUMBER WILL BE ABLE TO COME NEXT WEEK TO FINISH THE KITCHEN SOON TOO.

THANKS FOR YOUR CARE AND PRAYERS!

FELLOWSHIP HALL IS PROGRESSING!

Work began last week on the new Fellowship Hall in the basement underneath our auditorium. Brother Kaiser, and two other men, Ed Dellorco and Dave Christy came and jumped right in to begin the work. Dave, installed the drop ceiling of a 70' x 80' room and was finished in two days! WOW! He also installed the drop ceiling in the women's toilet room as well as the new kitchen. It looks GREAT! Ed framed in a needed soffit in one section of the main room to facilitate the ceiling being at the highest level possible. He also framed in 2 new rooms that will be used for a pantry and equipment room, and then began cutting all the lumber to size needed to frame in the steel columns. The columns will look like a piece of furniture when done and stained. Amazing workmanship by these two men. Brother Joe Kaiser also ram rodded the work being done by many of our own men and teens and he also installed the floor tile in both the men's and women's toilet rooms. He also worked me to death running for material and ordering whatever was needed. Two of our men also made a run to Maryland to pick up 3 skids of ceramic tile (14 hours roundtrip!!). Thanks Larry Kragiel and Mike Buttery for driving and also Tony Hart for letting us use his car carrier!

Many of our ladies provided meals for the men (lunch and dinner every day) and our teen girls served and cleaned up as well. Thank you Alison Sturgeon and Lisa Anderson as well as Victoria, Sarah, Sarah, and Erin for you hard work every day! Many men and teens have worked long hard days every day...Dean, Brent, and Andrew Burhoe, Adam, Caleb and Luke Graff, Tyler Arthur, Todd & Matt Sturgeon, Tim Benson, Pete Allen, Billy Anderson, Kyle Bechtold, Scott Normand, Brad Schilling, Kevin and Tom Danielson, Mark and Mike Danielson, JB Hillman, Isaac Raymond, Ethan and Seth Sadoian, John Sarra, Garry Saucier, Pastor Sparks and Pastor Getto, Mauro Turissi, Jay Watson, Christopher Bryant, Ed Young and Ed Zak. I am sure I have forgotten some of the men and ladies...please forgive me if I did. I appreciate all of you who have been working such long and hard days. May the Lord bless you all for your giving spirit!

Thanks to all the sacrificial giving by our folks here at FBBC! In the last two weeks our folks have given $20,690.00 of the $34,000.00 needed to complete the entire project!! Glory to God! What a joy it is to pastor folks! I sure do love you all!

FBBC sure does appreciate all the hours of labor being donated by Brother Joe Kaiser and his crew of excellent craftsmen! THANK YOU!

PRAISE THE LORD!

WELL, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THOUGHT I HAD DIED BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN NO NEW POSTS TO THIS BLOG...I DIDN'T! I AM STILL ALIVE AND WELL! This has been a very busy last few months for sure. I won't put you to sleep with all the details but needless to say we have been hopping every day.

We have suffered the loss of some dear saints of our church family (Cal Burhoe and Katheryn Young) as they have traveled on to glory ahead of us. We were hoping and praying that we ALL could go Home on the "family plan" in the rapture but such was not the Lord's will. Praise the Lord we know where they are and we WILL see them again...soon!

These last few months we have seen a wonderful harvest of souls as many have heard the gospel and were gloriously saved by His marvelous grace! Last Sunday morning (November 21st) we saw two men (one in his 30's and one about 17 years old) walk the sawdust trail and call upon the Lord to save them! GLORY! We also had a young husband and wife (in their 20's) who were recently saved get baptized and join the church! The evening service I preached on being THANKFUL and then opened up the service to the church family and there was about an hour of great testimonies about the Lord Jesus Christ! It was a wonderful day!

We have been 6 years now in our new building and we have never been able to save enough money to be able to finish the fellowship hall below the auditorium. Brother Joe Kaiser from Northeast Vision (out of Solid Rock Baptist Church in New Jersey) was here with us for our Missions Conference and he challenged us to try and raise the funds to get started. As a result the Lord has enabled us to raise some of the monies needed to be able to do a good portion of the room and as a result the Lord is sending brother Kaiser and a crew of about 6 of his men to come to FBBC next Monday to install the ceiling, ceramic tile, plumbing fixtures, and finish our kitchen. I am still amazed at what the Lord is doing here at FBBC!!!! I am grateful to have such godly friends as Brother Kaiser! He is a blessing everywhere he goes! He is a blessing to me and to FBBC. Thank you Lord for crossing our paths!

"ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY"

The play "One Heartbeat Away" performed by our teens from FBBC last Friday and Sunday evenings was a blessing beyond words. I have no ability to explain the blessing that I personally received as I watched the play both nights. I was amazed to see all that was involved (stage crew, actors, etc) be so blessed by God! I too experienced the moving of the holy Spirit as I gave the invitation. Then the ultimate blessing...to see 4 adults get saved Friday night and 4 young people get saved on Sunday night! WOW! Glory to God! I am also rejoicing to know that there were probably 60-100 lost folks that heard the gospel and surely were brought to holy Spirit conviction as a result of all the scripture they heard on both nights. God's word never returns void! Who knows how many others will be saved down the road as a result! There is fruit that will remain and be added to the accounts of all the young people and adults involved in this play.

Thank you all for the many months of labor, fasting, prayer and witnessing that has taken place since last November! Most of all, THANK YOU LORD for glorifying yourself through our teens and teen workers!
Philippians 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Church Visitation

Praise the Lord! Thank you to all of you who took an hour of your Saturday morning today to take gospel to the streets of Plainville today! I heard many good reports from the faithful brethren who went out into the highways and hedges for the Lord! (Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.) May the Lord bless you for your compassionate heart for the souls of the lost. (Jude 21-23 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh).

My wife and I really only had one prolonged conversation with a man about 80. But we know that the word will not return void and that the Lord blesses the proclamation of His word! (Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it). Also ran into three teens playing catch in the streets and they seemed very interested in what I told them about our GREAT SAVIOUR and the wonderful Teen department at FBBC!!

Stop Fretting! God is still God!

Isaiah 40:21-24 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: 23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. 24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

Worried about world powers? World War 3? Terrorists? Market crashes? Biological warfare? Understand this from Isaiah: “That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.” Whatever happened to Napoleon? Didn’t he die in exile on an island somewhere? Or Alexander, the not-so Great? Hitler? Or the maniac leaders of our generation—Osama bin Laden or what was his name, Sadam Hussein? Their influence is hardly a blip on God’s monitor. They may cause us to bite our nails and worry, but God isn’t pacing, or wringing His hands; just as soon as He’s ready He will reduce those leaders to nothing and He will do it with His feet up. Isaiah says in effect, “ 'Don’t you get it?' God doesn’t read the New York Times. If He did, it wouldn’t make any difference. Nothing stops God's unalterable purposes in this world!”

I can’t wait for that day in heaven when we get to hear history’s real story—when we read God’s script and realize all He was doing behind the scenes. Just imagine the drama of God’s continuous all-wise intervention in the sinful machinations of human armies and governments. To think that not one of His purposes is ever delayed or frustrated—not even for a moment. We will be amazed, stunned, and captured by God’s awesome control of human affairs.

Verse 24 says of world rulers, " Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble." When will we embrace the reality of God’s awesome control over history? History is and always has been God’s ballgame. He decides who gets on base, who pitches, who scores. He calls one man out and advances another runner. (Don’t try to figure it out).

Revelation 22:20-21 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

"ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY"

Last night (June 4th) our teens from FBBC put on the first of two performances of "One Heartbeat Away". The play was written and directed by the Teen Pastor, Ken Sparks with the assistance of the youth workers that minister along side of him. Many others from the church family were also involved in so many ways (building sets, providing music, sound and lighting, etc). I had not seen any of the rehearsals so that I would see it for the first time along with all that came. We probably had about 50-60 visitors who attended.
The play was about a family living for the Lord but with one lost rebellious son, a preacher, a hospital where the father is in ICU after a major heart attack...nah, I'm not going to give away any hints...come and see it for yourself. You will be glad you did! I laughed, I cried, I was blessed! I love our teens! They are awesome!
The teens did a marvelous job and the holy Spirit was in complete control of every aspect of the play. Truly the Lord blessed their preparation over these last 3-4 months. I was able to give the gospel and an invitation at the conclusion and four folks received Christ as their personal Saviour according to the hands that were raised to testify of their being saved. PRAISE THE LORD! The goals the teens had for the play were: 1. That the Lord Jesus Christ would be lifted up and that God would be glorified. 2. That the holy Spirit would bring conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come into the hearts of the lost in attendance. 3. That souls would be gloriously saved! Thank you Lord!
This Sunday night (June 6th at 6:00 P.M.) will be second and last performance. Please pray for the Lord to again be glorified and for many visitors to come and for souls to be saved.

Some Time of Rest and Refreshment

What a blessing I have had the last week as my lovely wife and I spent a week of time together. Bonnie and I will celebrate 40 years together as husband and wife this June 20th and we sure had a blast together the last week. I sure do love my bride!

We were also able to spend time with our daughter, Tina and her husband, Eric...but also with our grandson, Jr. It is always a treasured time for us to get together with them as we are only able to do so once each year. At age seven Jr has a sharp mind and he loves to talk and ask questions, go for walks with his Nana and Papa, ride his bike and scooter as we walked along with him. Oh! He LOVES to eat too! Although he has had difficulty lately as all four of his front teeth are missing. However, he had no difficulty devouring a burger and french fries at "Steak and Shake" in his hometown in Florida.

Then we also were able to drive up to Tampa and see Bonnie's dad. He is 90 years old now and is still in pretty good health and even drives himself all over town. Could I ask you to pray for him? He is still lost and we are so earnestly praying for him to come to a place of personal repentance and salvation through faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on Calvary.

3.27.2010 Update
Come out street preaching--you never know what to expect!

It seems like something is always happening in our ministry-- good or bad! This week, it was my 13-year-old car deciding to empty its engine oil all over the road! Thankfully, it happened close to the end of our trek to Hartford, because it most likely would have caught fire if it had been coating the catalytic converter much longer (YIKES!). The long and short of it was that it wasn't safe to drive, and we decided to have it towed.

That left us four in Hartford with no ride. Rather than let that hinder our efforts, I sent two of the guys up to the State House area, while myself and Herb stayed near where we parked the car to be able to see the tow truck when it came.
We started out by passing out tracts, but I was soon stirred in my spirit to preach. I knelt to pray before beginning, and asked God to bless the message, and (although it was difficult) told him to have his way with the car incident. The Lord gave great liberty to preach, and those within hearing range were quite attentive. The tow truck driver even heard the preaching as he passed by to find my vehicle!

Since the tow truck had arrived, I needed to wrap up the preaching and help get the car ready for tow. Once it was on the truck, the other guys came down from the State House after preaching and handing out tracts there. Thank the Lord the work went on! We were able to get a ride back to church from my sister-in-law.

...And the car? Well, I was sure that it had finally given up the ghost, but after contacting the shop, I discovered, to my great surprise and delight, that the leak was an easily repaired seal, and I had the car back before 5pm that day! Praise the Lord! That car has been transporting the guys in this ministry for almost ten years, and, Lord willing, it will continue to do so for a time to come.

THANK YOU DAVID, HERB, HARRY, AND THE FAITHFUL GUYS FOR YOUR DESIRE TO GET THE WORD OUT ON THE STREETS OF HARTFORD!! You guys bless my heart!

I WAS WALKING THROUGH THE CHURCH LAST WEEK WHEN SOME OF OUR HOME SCHOOL KIDS WERE HAVING A CHAPEL SERVICE. I COUNT IT A PRIVILEGE TO BE EVEN A SMALL PART OF THESE KIDS LIVES! WHAT A BLESSING TO BE THEIR PASTOR!

Praise the Lord! It is always a blessing when folks get saved and then follow the Lord in believer's baptism. I wanted to add a couple of pictures of ladies that were obedient and desirous to be baptized this past week at FBBC. I rejoice in their decision. Of course, the church family is always excited to see the growth in their fellow laborers for Christ.

2010 St. Patrick's Day Parade Update

It was rough making the call whether to go out in the rain today, but when we considered that thousands of revellers were braving the weather to worship their gods, the choice became patently obvious. Our God is far worthier.
Because of the weather, I estimate the normal crowd of about 30,000 was cut down to a third of its normal size. That's still plenty of people to reach, so the five of us struck out, starting at the bars at Asylum Ave. The reduced crowd allowed us to get around almost the whole parade route before the parade actually began.
We had tracts made up using the historically accurate testimony of "Saint" Patrick to introduce the gospel of Jesus Christ. They were well received, and we ended up passing out over 500 by my estimations.
We were also able to talk with a few folks. Darren and Dave spoke with a man named Dutch, and I was able to speak with a man named Albert.
As usual, please pray for all the people who received a tract today. The word of God is in those tracts, and it is "quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword..."

The Lord has been blessing abundantly, as He always does!

Ephesians 3:17-21 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

The Lord has been blessing abundantly, as He always does!

There have been some folks saved and baptized. There have been many visitors coming to the services. This past week has been such a joy! Monday and Tuesday eleven of our adults went to Lancaster, PA to see the Sight and Sound presentation of Joseph. It was such a great time of fellowship for the entire two days. The play was a blessing but the fellowship we all had together was a blessing that only the Lord could give. We sang hymns, we quoted scripture, we encouraged one another, we laughed, we cried! (We ate too...all went to the Shady Maple for their smorgasbord, and also to Fudruckers for a great hamburger too!)

Wednesday...we had a 42 year old man, an addict for the last seven years, get saved in the afternoon, and then he and his wife came to church that night as well and he stood up and gave testimony of his salvation that afternoon.

Thursday was a great time as I taught Prep & Preaching II to seven men and a couple of our teenager young men. That thrills my soul! They are a joy to teach and such a blessing to watch them grow and mature spiritually.

This afternoon (Friday) 26 piled into two vans and a SUV and took off driving headed to Canada for the Teen Thunder Youth meeting. Our prayer is for safety in the journey and spiritual growth and teens getting saved!

Tonight we have our weekly Reformers Unanimous meeting. Many of our workers are gone but we have some folks willing to step into the leadership roles and be used by the Lord to minister the word to all who will come tonight.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

The Lord has blessed in many ways during this past week. Last Sunday morning a young lady recently saved was baptized. It was an answer to our prayers being brought before the Lord for almost a year. Thank you Lord!

The last few Wednesday nights I have been teaching about witnessing and helping the church family to become more familiar with all the verses they can use in their witnessing efforts. We take each of the major parts of information needed for the lost to get a clear understanding of the truth of scripture, and show all the scripture they can use to expose truth to the folks they are witnessing to. I have had many folks tell me what a blessing this has been for them and that it has strengthened their desire to witness to the lost.

Also, last Wednesday night during testimony and prayer request time Rui and Lily told us the great news that Rui's niece and nephew (in Portugal) have finally understood the scriptures concerning the false teaching of their church regarding tongues, and all the false teachings of the Pentecostal and Charismatic confusion. It is especially a blessing because Rui's nephew has been a pastor in that false teaching for many years. That man of God had the conviction and courage to resign his position as a pastor of that church. THAT blesses my heart to know that there are still Christian men and women who will do right EVEN in the face of losing all they have invested their life into once they understand truth. The TRUTH makes FREE! Rui's niece said to Rui, "I am willing to begin all over again to learn the truth of scripture!" THAT is a godly woman. I am sure the Lord has tremendous plans for their future in ministry there in Portugal.

I have also been in contact with a man this week (he contacted me first because he received a tract that directed him to our church). He was married just last year to a lady who professes to be saved, and after speaking with her last night I believe she is a Christian. The man has been overcome by and battling a stronghold and addiction that has just about destroyed him over the last 6-7 years. He has lost just about everything. Well, he and his wife came to our Reformers Unanimous meeting last night and brought their son with them. The wife was thrilled and he too was affected in a wonderful way by the word of God taught and preached, as well as by the warmness and caring folks who minister faithfully every Friday night at our RU chapter here in Plainville. I also met a 14 year old young lady who was gloriously saved last night at RU. She is related to some of our RU workers and she has been attending with them for the last few weeks. GLORY TO GOD for a new name written down in glory!

I am heading to the Boston area today (Saturday) to preach the first anniversary of a new church we have been helping get planted in Stoneham, MA. Pastor Chuck Starr and his wife, Shelly and their daughter, Shelly had moved back to MA (their old stomping grounds) with the Lord's leading in Chuck's heart to start this new church, Calvary Baptist Church. Tomorrow is a big day for them and they are praying for many visitors to come and for folks to get saved and added to the church. Please pray for me to be used of the Lord in the services there tomorrow.

2.27.2010 Update From David

The Lord has blessed tremendously the last few months in that we have had enough men to have two groups to hit the streets of Hartford. Thank the Lord, and thank you who come out on Saturday and make that possible.

It was a chilly and snowy day, but, as Benaiah in I Chronicles 11:22, we had a lion to slay. The Lord allowed us to preach for about half an hour near Center Church. It was there that Herb and I also had the opportunity to speak with a man named Sean about his soul. He was very blinded to the truth, and wouldn't let us answer his questions. At one point I told him that if he wouldn't allow us to answer his questions, we couldn't help him and would have to part ways. He then allowed us to open the scriptures that once, and give him God's answer for his question. He is very confused and needs the Lord. Pray that what little scripture we were able to share would get through whatever is confusing and blinding him and would bear fruit unto eternal life.

We were also able to preach up next to the Old State House, which is a favorite spot of ours. The guys were able to pass out a fair number of tracts as well today. There were several other people with whom the other group was able to speak with. Pray that God would convict their hearts of their need of the Saviour, as well as the rest who heard the preaching today.

Thanks as always for your prayers.

This week FBBC started its spring semester of our Bible Institute. This year marks the 19th year of the Kings Bible Institute (KBI). Last evening I started Preparation & Preaching II. I really love teaching verse by verse studies of various books of the Bible. What a joy it is to open up the AV 1611 and examine this pure, perfect Bible in great detail with the students. The second greatest thrill for me is teaching the pastoral classes such as Prep & Preaching and Church Administration to those men who have a desire to be involved in the ministry one day. I have 5 men in this class who also took P&P I last semester. I pray that I will be a blessing to these men this semester.
After class I quickly left to make an appointment I had scheduled and it was an appointment I did not want to miss or reschedule. There has been a lady attending our church with her saved husband for about a year now. She has believed that she and God were on the same page and she believed that her soul was fine. However, during the last few months she has been under conviction and just within the last few weeks got saved. She really didn't say anything to anyone but her husband noticed that she was reading the bible I gave to her about two months ago. She read the bible faithfully everyday. I recently received a birthday card from the two of them and she wrote a brief statement in the card to the effect that she appreciated my help in her getting saved. She then told my associate pastor that she wanted to be baptized. I immediately set up the appointment for last night. So, after class I drove straight to their home and heard from her that she truly had been saved! I am on shouting ground! PRAISE THE LORD for HIS working in her heart these many months! So, she will be getting baptized this Sunday morning! THANK YOU LORD for allowing me to see things just like this over the last 26 years!

Sunday AM

This morning I preached on the texts Matthew 22:42 "What think ye of Christ" and Matthew 27:42 "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?"
The answer is to receive or reject, accept or deny, be 'for' or 'against'.

I was unsure why the Lord had laid these texts and this message upon my heart to preach today as I had been preaching a series of messages on "The Will of God" for the last 3 weeks. Well, God's will for the lost is salvation, He is "not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance". As I stood at the pulpit and scanned the congregation I saw not one person that was a visitor that might be lost. In my mind I thought, "Well Lord, is this message for one of the congregation who is lost? Maybe. But then I glanced to my right and saw a man who has visited several times in the past couple of years, a lost Jewish man. I had spent time with him in the past about salvation but he had never received that truth, at least not to my knowledge. There he was, sitting in the congregation. So I preached the message and gave the invitation. He raised his hand for prayer. I was praying fervently that he would step forward, but, alas, he did not move. I pleaded for those who were lost to come and allow someone to help answer their questions and answer the questions, "What think ye of Christ" and "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" No movement.
,
Well the service ended and I was hoping to get another chance to speak with this dear soul. (I was standing in the lobby when one of the men in our church told me that that visitor came into the service after I had already started preaching. That is why I didn't see him right away.) Please pray for this dear one to fall under holy Spirit conviction of sin, righteousness and the judgment of God so he would repent of his sin and trust the Lord Jesus Christ as his Messiah and Saviour and God!

CONTENTMENT

Leaning on his fence one day, a devout Quaker was watching a new neighbor move in next door. After all kinds of modern appliances, electronic gadgets, plush furniture, and costly wall hangings had been carried in, the onlooker called over, "If you find you're lacking anything, neighbor, let me know and I'll show you how to live without it."

Contentment is not found in "stuff" or "things" but in a Person! That Person is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So, again, contentment is not the results of “stuff” but rather, the Saviour.

Some additional food for thought from the word of God:

Proverbs 15:16-17 Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. 17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Proverbs 28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Psalms 37:16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

CHRISTIAN IDOL WORSHIP?

Does anyone think that a Christian will miss church and a time to worship the King of kings and Lord of lords for an Idol worship service?
Hmmmmm! Me thinks "yes!"
